UGC NET 2023
UGC NET 2023 - The National Testing Agency released the UGC NET notification 2023 for December 2023 session on September 30, 2023. Along with the UGC NET notification, NTA also released the UGC NET application form 2023 in online mode.
The UGC NET application form has been released on the official website at ugc.nta.ac.in. The last date to submit the UGC NET application form is October 28, 2023. UGC NET 2023 result for the December exam will be declared on January 10, 2024.
UGC NET Exam Pattern
1. Mode of Exam : UGC NET is a computer-based test (CBT), which means the exam is conducted online.
2. Number of Papers: UGC NET consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II.
Paper I:It is common for all candidates and tests teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, divergent thinking, comprehension, and general awareness. There are 50 multiple-choice questions, and candidates need to attempt 50 questions. The total marks for this paper are 100, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours.
Paper II: This paper is based on the subject selected by the candidate. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, and all questions are compulsory. The total marks for this paper are 200, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours.
3. Marking Scheme: Both Paper I and Paper II have a marking scheme where each correct answer is awarded 2 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
4. Choice of Subject: Candidates can choose the subject of their post-graduation or a related subject for Paper II. The list of subjects is extensive and covers various disciplines.
5. Qualifying Marks: To qualify for UGC NET, candidates need to score at least 40% aggregate marks in both papers taken together for general category candidates. For OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender candidates, the qualifying marks are 35%.
